Once the warp finishes, the Negi Party finds themselves midair, descending to the ground Marciano’s 12 Sisters style, but without parachutes.

- Upon seeing this blog entry, I ventured to Akihabara on August 19th in search of the Asa & Kaede bed sheet that comes up with the special edition of Dengeki Hime (or is it the other way around?). The bed sheets were sold out at almost all the stores I want to, including Animate, Melon Books, and Gamers. When I was about to give up on it though, I went to K-books and, to my delight, found that there were still some available. Now, the bedsheet is adorning my flat futon. It feels good to sleep on, seriously, due to the nature of the fabric itself.

While hurrying for the root of the World Tree, Negi asks Kamo as to why they are going there. Kamo explains that, according to the 60+ years of data collected by “Loving the World Tree to Our Best of Ability Society” (whose website Kamo asked Chisame to check back 4-5 chapters before), every 22 years the World Tree gives off more light than usual, and on such a year it would continue to radiate until 7-8 days after Mahora Festival. The same thing happens this year (2004). Therefore, Kamo, gambling on the possibility that there is still some magical energy left at the root of the World Tree, decides to lead the Negi Party there, and he’s right. Cassiopeia starts to work again. Continue reading “Mahou Sensei Negima! 145: Time Limit of the Time Machine”
In the past few weeks, there has been a big hype on a certain event in the anime blog community; perpetrators include Heisei Democracy and ikimashou. They generated a hype big enough that a person who’s not really into that sort of things like me want to check the event out myself. So, on Sunday August 20, my curiosity took me once again to Tokyo Big Sight to participated in the biggest(?) figurine-related event in Japan, the Summer Wonder Festival 2006. As I am too lazy to write a full-blown report on the other days of Comiket yet. (Hopefully, I’ll get it done by this weekend.) I figure I’ll post pictures of the loot I managed to get. Although it may be pale in comparison to Shingo’s ginormous collection, I think it offers a wider variety of stuffs you can get at Comiket. So, here we go… Continue reading “Comiket 70 Loot”
August 11 marked the second time I participated in the holiest ritual of the otaku, the Comic Market. Having been granted permission to take Friday off, I went to the largest doujinshi convention in the world three days straight, fought the most ginormous crowd I’ve seen in my life, and threw away 1/3 of my salary like it was nothing. And, here, my fellow otaku, is a part of my life I want to share with you guys. Continue reading “Comiket 70 Report: Friday August 11″

In which Fuyuki, the class’ cameraman, gets his hands full or work as friends come one after another with photo-retouching requests. Hilarity ensues. Continue reading “School Rumble 188: Paparazzi”
The lack of updates in the last week is due to the fact that there was a lot going on in my life/anime fandom. On August 5-6, I took a trip to Hiroshima Prefecture to visit the Miyajima, the Peace Memorial Park, and, most importantly, the town of Onomichi, where the supreme moeness of the almighty Yurie-sama shines in the tales of Kamichu! I promise I’ll write something about it.
Well, back to the topic, the 70th Comiket is just two days away, and I’m psyched beyond words. I’ve been busy preparing my shopping list. It’s not an easy task, I have to say, because it involves curbing my buying desire.
Anyways, here’s the list:
Non-doujinshi Item(s):
- Fate Testarossa dakimakura cover: I actually haven’t decided to buy this yet because of it’s exorbitant price: 7500en can buy me 15 books. Should I buy it? Should I not?
Friday August 11:
- SIX SHOT (東A16): If the Haruhi book is not pr0n, then they’ll get my money.
- あねご屋 (東D35): The Noir/MADLAX/Avenger doujinshi looks awesome.
- 黒雪 (東F37): Miruku Hunters 5 (if I can stand it), and the last SEED book. (NSFW)
- 青空プロレス (東シ34): Azumanga Daioh/Yotsuba to! book.
- 塩こんぶプロジェクト (東シ43): Their original comics looks interesting.
- SWEET ROSE (東シ47): Barasui of the Ichigo Mashimaro fame.
- ビィスタヂ (東ネ39): Keroro Gunso gag doujinshi.
- はらぺこぽん (東ネ14): Negima book about the Library Expedition Club
- Various other Tales Series, and Suikoden Series doujinshi.
Saturday August 12:
- チョコレート・ショップ (東シ29): Xenosaga II design work.
- HEART❤WORK (東シ30): Sketches of Hiro Suzuhira, one of the Navel’s artist duo. I like his design, so definitely a must buy.
- 片励会 (西あ53): Koh Kawarajima’s work.
Sunday August 13:
- Too many to list, and still deciding.
